FSBO selling is done to save money. Actually you are required to pay 6% of the purchasing price to the real estate agent. The real estate agents gets 6% from the seller whose agent he is and 2 to 3% from the other side who might be the buyer. I do feel that this is a big amount. But I will certainly not say that the real estate agents are not worthy of. I do feel that the amount of work they do really makes them eligible for this money. However different peoples think differently. And in fact, most of the people think that how good it will be if they decide to sell the house on their own. The idea is good but its implementation is very tough and I do feel that you will require lots of hard work in order to become the real FSBO.

It is a bitter truth for the FSBO that almost all the FSBO deals end up in agents listing. The real estate agents are really the boss and they provide the risk and tension free environment which no body else can provide. I do feel that the risk and the tension which is attached to the FSBO is its real drawback.

There are some other points as well which you can consider as a drawback. They are as follows:

1. Marketing
If you will chose the real estate agents as the one who is responsible for all the jobs then you will definitely have not to worry about the marketing. The real estate agent takes all the responsibility of the marketing. Hence as an FSBO you have to worry about something which might have been the job of the real estate agent.

2. Buyers search
The second point which is really very worrying is the search for the buyer. It is really not so easy to find out the potential buyers. The real estate agents have the accessing power of the MLS and hence it is very easy for them to really decide that which buyers will be the best for the deal. You as an FSBO will have to pay a fixed amount to the FSBO Company which then gives you the power to access the MLS.

3. You are not available 24 hours
This is really true that you will not be available for 24 hours. I do feel that it would be very hard for you because you will loose most of the time in office. Hence it would be very hard for you to give your hundred percent.

These are few points which are really very important drawbacks of the FSBO and I do feel that you will experience it once you decide to go for it.
